Obituary for Deion Nesbitt

Deion Levar Nesbitt was born on July 12, 1990 in Pittsburgh, PA., to Kevin Gore and Celeste Nesbitt.Deion resided in the Homewood, Hill District, and East Liberty neighborhoods of Pittsburgh and attended the Pittsburgh Public Schools, graduating from Taylor Allerdice in 2009. He was full of life, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known to all as the gentle giant. Deion enjoyed playing basketball, football, and wrestling. He most recently played semi-pro football for The Pennsylvania Jaquars formerly known as The Pittsburgh Stealth. Deion also loved working with children, he was a youth counselor at the YMCA’s located both in Homewood and the Northside, he also worked for Youth Place. Deion’s greatest joy was being security at various locations, he would always say he loved protecting people and keeping them safe. Deion was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Cora M. Nesbitt and grandfather, Henry Wayne Evans. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at The UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA.To cherish his memories he leaves, his parents, Kevin Gore and Celeste Nesbitt, 1 sister Ebony Johnson, 1 brother Maurice Mallory, grandmother, Betty Gore, grandfather, James Taylor; 5 uncles, Charles Gore, Lamont Nesbitt, Dana Evans, Hakim Mujhaid, Arnold and Trayon Gore; 4 aunts, Luvenia and Angelo Dudley, Sheila Nesbitt, Janice and Mike Gore-Cobb, Rachelle and Jay Calfee; one great uncle, Robert Gore; one great aunt, Delores and William Neal, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
